The blink-182 classic “Aliens Exist” has gotten a fan-made music video full of blink lore and UFOlogy insider information via a professionally animated project by animator Eli Pupsroduction. In 2024, he received a degree in Animation Film Directing, and made this animation as for his portfolio. “Aliens Exist” was chosen since it came from the director’s favorite blink-182 album “Enema of the State,” and didn’t previously have an official or non-official video.

The easter eggs are rich with 1990s blink history. The video begins with the “Dude Ranch” bull getting abducted, and even has references to “Cheshire Cat,” obscure live performances, fan-favorite EP “They Came to Conquer Uranus,” and even nods to the original/ banned “M&Ms” video.
“Blink is my favorite band, and I wanted to create something truly worthy for the community and pay tribute to the band itself, he said . “I wanted my animation to look like an official music video for the song, so I tried to make it as close as possible to the style of Blink’s other videos. That’s why there are so many references to their previous work — I wanted the animation to feel cohesive and seamlessly connected with the rest of the band’s videos. And of course, I wanted to please the hardcore fans who would catch all those references.”
For the UFO enthusiasts, you’ll see plenty of species making appearances from greys to reptilian types and tall Nordics
“For my graduation project, I developed a concept for a comedy action series in a sci-fi setting called Captain Pulsar, he said. “According to the story, all contactee accounts turned out to be true, and a special team of the best astronauts from all over Earth was assembled, led by a charismatic captain, to fight the alien threat. When I was developing it, I got really into ufology stories and contactee messages, and the show’s setting was heavily inspired by them. After that, I kept studying UFO sightings and encounters and carried that inspiration into my Blink animation. I’m sure Tom will definitely appreciate all the UFO references and details in the animation—I really hope he gets to see it.Oh, and I also have a finished 5-minute short film based on Captain Pulsar, but it’s not publicly available yet—it’s been ‘sitting in the drawer’ for about a year. I’ve tried submitting it to a few animation festivals and pitching it to studios and producers. Maybe someday it’ll see the light of day.”
