REVIEW: Bouncing Souls, H20 still have nothing to prove

The West Coast leg of the “ECFU” tour began Thursday, Dec. 4 at Houston’s White Oak Music Hall, and featured two of the best punk rock acts from the 1990s; the Bouncing Souls and H20 tearing it up like they always have.

There are certain constants fans of these iconic East Coast bands have come to expect. For The Bouncing Souls it is the sing-along anthems , poppy choruses and blue collar charm that has always attracted the freaks, the nerds and the romantics. “Manthem,” “Hopeless Romantic,” “The Gold Song,” and “Sing Along Forever” hit just like they always have.

When it comes to H20 you are getting passion , and an overload of positive mental attitudes. As one of the fathers of melodic hard core, H20 blazed through riff heavy and catch songs like “Faster Than The World,” “1995,” “What Happened ?”, “Guilty By Association “ and opening aptly with “Nothing To Prove.”

Mercy Union and the criminally underrated Dave Hause opened the show, which was a beginning of the holiday season for punk rockers.
