Back in November at Sound By Sound festival in Austin, this author had the bucket-list opportunity to sit down and interview Milo Aukerman, beloved front man from the iconic punk/ genre-forming pop-punk band the Descendents.

Besides talking about the band's legacy that has influenced NOFX, blink-182, MxPx and Green Day, Aukerman's punk-pivot back to the stage from the science field and the band's own coffee-themed beer, the question had to come up regarding intelligent life out there. Aukerman is a former research biochemist who recently worked for DuPont as a plant researcher, and holds a doctorate in biology. The band recently celebrated the 20-year anniversary of legendary album "Everything Sucks," complete with a vinyl re-release.

Aukerman's interest in science and expertise in organic life came up in the interview, and in the below never-before released clip from the interview, Aukerman discusses his beliefs about if there there is extraterrestrial life out there.
