TRAVEL: Mystery Town, USA a fun way to believe in the unbelievable

MACKINAW CITY, MI- If you are looking for a family-friendly, immersive paranormal journey, well the mystery has been solved.

Mystery Town, USA in Mackinaw City, Michigan is a walk-through tourist attraction that includes excursions to paranormal places like the Bermuda Triangle, Atlantis, The tomb of King Tut, Area-51, underneath the Loch Ness, and more. If you ever wondered what it would be like going through a wormhole, they have you covered. The rooms and settings are adorned with props, fun facts to read on the wall ( some are facts, some are fiction), and really makes the visitor feel like they are walking through an ancient Egyptian tomb. Each room transports the guest’s imagination to where it should be. There is a camp element like introducing the idea of space dinosaurs, but it is fun enough.

There are plenty of photo ops like with Bigfoot towards the end of the attraction, or a mythical unicorn. There is a room that ties in to the local legend of the Michigan Dogman, which is a cryptozoology lore of a bipedal, giant dog-like creature.

If you’ve been to Museum of the Weird in Austin, Texas, Mystery Town, USA is a similar vibe. If you want the big-time feel of a major theme park attraction, but at a small town price, Mystery Town, USA is worth your time if you are ever at Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
